BHOPAL: A gang of three looted four women passengers aboard Overnight Express in the wee hours on Monday after the train left Narsinghpur police station. The train was coming to Bhopal from Jabalpur. The passengers robbed of their belongings were travelling in the AC coach. One of them is a sessions judge posted at Rewa.
According to station house officer (SHO), government railway police (GRP), Jabalpur, Y Mishra, three persons boarded the AC coach at around 4.00 am as the train was leaving Narsinghpur police station and carried out the loot in AC-2 coach. They were armed with knives. They took away seven mobiles, jewelry worth Rs 3.5 lakh and cash of Rs 40,000 before pulling the chain and jumping out of the train.
Mishra said that one of the loot victims is Arti Shukla Pandey, an additional district & sessions judge at Rewa while the other three have been identified as Anita Sharma, Renu Sainy and Poonam Bhaleja.
Both GRP and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel have launched a probe into the case.
