Satna mayor in trouble as guard fires in air during BJP workers’ clash

Bharatiya Janata Party’s firebrand leader and Satna Mayor Mamta Pandey who often lands in trouble with her impromptu remarks, slipped in legal trouble as her gunman fired in the air while the partymen scuffled while welcoming BJP vice president Prabhat Jha.
Two factions of the party had gotten entangled during the welcome and abuses were hurled at each other freely in the presence of the party senior leader.
The ruckus did not limit to the railway station as BJP workers jammed traffic in the city at several places, GRP station faced siege and Addl Rail SP was also faced gherao by the party workers.
Sources claim that a scuffle broke out between party workers and leaders as they were welcoming Jha at the railway station and a shot was fired from gunman’s rifle. The disorder left the gunman badly wounded and he was rushed to hospital.
After the ruckus, GRP booked BJYM district head Ratnakar Chaturvedi which infuriated his supporters. These anguished supporters carried out a gherao of the GRP station, halted public transport and jammed traffic movement.
Several complaints were filed with the GRP. Gunman Rajiv Tomar in his complaint alleged that he was trying to safeguard the mayor in the crowd and fired in air when the mob got out of control. While BJYM head Chaturvedi complained against mayor Mamta Pandey’s son Amit for trying to eliminate him.
Additional SP Rail Suendrapal Singh Davar said that a case has been registered on the complaint of Ratnakar Chaturvedi. He maintained that the police was not under any pressure and refuted claims that he was taken hostage by the crowd.
