School buses carrying girl students should have woman staffer: MP transport dept

Taking cognizance of unsafe atmosphere that girl students had to endure in and outside schools, Transport department in Madhya Pradesh had made it mandatory for all the schools that any bus carrying girl students should have at least one woman staffer in the bus.
This woman staffer could be either the bus driver/conductor or any teacher/ from the related school.
The department in its order said that a girl student could not be left alone in the school bus as she might feel uneasy in the presence of male driver and his assistant, so each and every school director/principal is required to make sure that a woman driver or a woman assistant remains on board.
“Every school bus should necessarily have either a woman driver/assistant or a woman teacher or any female staffer of the school,” the order issued by Principal Secretary (Transport) and Commissioner (Transport) reads.
