‘Spidermen’ outwit arrogant farmer, fix Madhya Pradesh’s power circuit

INDORE: If Spiderman would have been Indian, he would have resembled two contract labourers of Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Ltd (MPPKVVCL), who hung from an 18 meter-high power line for more than three hours to prune trees coming in the way of electricity supply.

The workers moved along the high-tension power line (in an improvised pulley) passing over a three-acre plot so that the power company could complete a Rs 22-crore double circuit line electricity supply project that had been stalled for the last three years.

And all this because of one angry and obstinate vegetable farmer, who for the last three years had been stopping MPPKVVCL employees from entering his land -thereby thwarting plans to supply electricity to half-a-dozen colonies on Indore Bypass.
