DC Hammer is a customized Mahindra Thar with Red leather interiors

The custom built Mahindra Thar called the Hammer has been unveiled. It receives a host of updates that give the Thar an altogether new look that will set it apart on Indian roads.

With customization price starting at INR 5.5 lakhs besides the donor Mahindra Thar, the designers have added some innovative designs to the Thar both where its exterior features and interior comforts are concerned making it a must have for every adventure seeker in the country.

Exteriors of the customized Thar Hammer includes a new front grille, LED projector headlamps, fog lamps with turn indicators and a new bonnet design adding to the Hammer’s adventurous stance. Thar Hammer sides have also received some updates with chrome trim and stock steel wheels that now make way for alloy wheels and roof mounted wing mirrors.

Wheel arches are wider and the hardtop gets more muscular. At the rear, LED tail lamps are also specially designed for the Thar Hammer. Thar Hammer interiors are plush and luxurious with red leather seen throughout its interiors. The dashboard is done up in wood paneling as are the central console and door trims.

Dashboard vents are done up in chrome and roof gets AC vents. In terms of infotainment, the Mahindra Thar Hammer gets a touchscreen stereo on its central console. Seating is in a 2+2 front facing arrangement. Options to buyers also include an updated double DIN audio system while faux leather can be replaced with real leather and bi-xenon headlamps in the front.

No changes to engine specifications are seen on the Mahindra Thar Hammer which continues tobe powered by the same 2.5 liter turbo diesel engine offering 105 bhp power and 247 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox.
