Girl raped in a moving train in Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL/JABALPUR: A girl was allegedly raped in a moving train between Hoshangabad and Jabalpur railway stations in Indore-Bilaspur express.

The survivor made this complaint at the public hearing of Jabalpur’s superintendent of police on Tuesday afternoon.

“The survivor came to the public hearing and made the complaint. As she was not comfortable here, we have sent her to the women police station incharge, where her statement is being recorded,” SP Jabalpur, Dr Ashis told TOI.

He added, “Exact details will be available once her statement is recorded. Given to the serious nature of the incident, strict action would be taken against the accused”.

Sources said that the survivor who is resident of Raisen boarded the Indore-Bilaspur Express at Hoshangabad station along with a man who promised to get her a job at Jabalpur. The accused raped her on the way and escaped after leaving her at Jabalpur, subsequently the survivor rushed to the public hearing to make complaint.
