Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to Donald Trump: ‘You are number 1’

Late last year it was reported that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had dinner with US president Donald Trump. Back then the details of the dinner meeting hadn’t emerged. However, now Trump in an interview shared some details of the meeting. The US president in an interview with a radio show said that Zuckerberg congratulated him and said that “you are number one”. Trump in the interview reportedly said, “Zuckerberg told me that ‘I’d like to congratulate you, you are number one on Facebook’.”

Now what exactly Zuckerberg was referring to when he said Trump was number one isn’t clear. Trump’s personal verified Facebook page at last count had 25.2 million likes and around 26.7 million followers. The most liked and followed verified page — the number one — on Facebook belongs to Portugal and Juventus’s football star Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo’s page has about 122.2 million likes and has 123 million followers. Trump, in fact, as per a report by Statista, isn’t even in the top 20 most popular pages of 2019.

Zuckerberg was also asked last year about this meeting with Trump and hadn’t given out much details. Zuckerberg had said that he and Trump had talked about a variety of things but didn’t share any specifics. In an interview, Zuckerberg had said, “We talked about a number of things that were on his mind, and some of the topics that you read about in the news.”

Meanwhile, a recent report revealed Trump tweeted a whopping 7,700 times in 2019, which averages to about 21 tweets a day. December 12, however, was a special day even by Trump’s prolific standards on Twitter. On that particular day, the US president sent out as many as a whopping 123 tweets in 24 hours. Trump, according to the report, sent out twice the number of tweets he had in 2018. In 2018, he had tweeted about 3,600 times.
